Paul Edwards

Coordinator of Instructional Support
University of Minnesota-Twin Cities
Minneapolis, MN

Dr. Paul Edwards is Coordinator of Academic Support at the Multicultural Center for Academic Excellence (MCAE) at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus, and he also works with MCAE’s international educational initiatives. He also provides direct support for diverse students across campus, including many international students, students with disabilities, and students with underrepresented backgrounds. Dr. Edwards has international educational, research, and humanitarian experience in Asia, Africa, South America, and the Caribbean over the past 25 years. He created the Common Connections program in response to observations in the literature and campus climate surveys that show that international students often feel a low sense of belonging on campus, have difficulty with academic group work, and want more friendships with domestic students (but have difficulty making them).
