Manager, Academic Programs
Adam Zahn, MS is the Associate Director of the Office of International Programs. As the Associate Director, he manages the development and implementation of OIP programs, works with faculty on new and existing international programs, facilitates the Global Engagement Scholar and Global Classroom programs, and conceptualizes co-curricular programming for global engagement. He is also an adjunct instructor for the Lindy Center for Civic Engagement, teaching courses such as "Introduction to Civic Engagement," "Haiti: Community, Education, and Development," and "Alternative Spring Break and Service Ethics." He has presented workshops on the Global Classroom program at various conferences including NAFSA (2015, 2016), COIL (2016), and European COIL (2016).
Before joining Drexel, Mr. Zahn worked as an immigration paralegal for the law firm of Surin & Griffin, PC, where he helped work with clients on their asylum and business immigration cases and defense hearings. He also served as a English teacher in Yaounde, Cameroon for the NGO, Cameroon Association for the Protection and Education of the Child (CAPEC). He has a Master's of Science in Teaching, Learning, and Curriculum and a Bachelor's in International Area Studies from Drexel University. His prior research focused on improving strategies and effectiveness for educational development in Cameroon, and community engagement and service-learning to increase literacy achievement for at-risk students. Mr. Zahn was a Humanities Fellowship recipient under the direction of Dr. Mimi Sheller in Drexel's Mobilities Research and Policy Center, as well as a STAR Scholar under the direction of Dr. Joel Oestreich in the International Area Studies program.
