Lena Ornestrand

Lena Ornestrand is the International Relations Manager of the Faculty (School) of Education, Linköping University in Sweden with main focus on international strategy, agreements and cooperation. Lena has long time experience in Teacher Education, both nationally and internationally. She has participated in several Swedish national investigastions and committees such as Assessment Of Prior and Experiental Learning, Widening Participation as well as Internationalisation of Teacher Education and more. Since 2006, Lena has worked with International Agreements and Study Abroad programs and developed the student exchange programs for teacher students at Linköping University. She has experience from several International projects as well as collaborations with U.S Teacher Education Institutions. In recent years, summer programs allowing teacher students to practice teaching in Kenya and India have been some of the highlights professionally. Also a long time NAFSA attendee and former presenter (Teacher Education Colloquium in 2013). Current projects include the Swedish National Projects "Increasing The Academic Value of Mobility" and "Increasing Mobility in Pre-school Teacher Education".

In her free time, Lena enjoys camping in Europe with her family and she try to spend weekends in the family's summer cottage taking long walks in the forests. No winter without ice-skating or skiing, of course! Lena appreciate her work that has given her friends from around the world.

Helene Elvstrand

Helene Elvstrands research area concerns democracy related to Education, After School Centers and School and Childrens' Participation & Human Rights in particular. Helene main lectures inr in Schools on topics concerning children's rights. Her Current project is to head the Swedish National Project on the Academic Value Of Mobility in the Preschool Teacher Program.
