Rosaceli Ortega

Rosaceli Ortega is an International Student Advisor at Columbia University and has a Masters in Biological Anthropology and Bachelors in Cultural Anthropology. Before entering the international field, she has worked as an archeological field technician and excavated in various sites in NY, NJ and PA. She also worked in various administrative offices and non-profit organizations before entering into the international field. In 2011, her first experience in the international field began at the School of Visual Arts in NYC which allowed her to learn about student immigration regulations and flourish as an international student advisor. Her experience has thrived and continued at Columbia University's International Students and Scholars Office.

Simone Long

Simone Long is a Senior Program Office in the International Students and Scholars Office (ISSO) at Columbia University. She started her career at Columbia University 22 years ago in the undergraduate Dean of Student's Office where she was an Administrative Assistant completing her undergraduate degree in English Literature at the School of General Studies, also at Columbia University. Four years later she was promoted to Coordinator for Academic Information and was later promoted to Assistant Director of Enrollment Reporting and Data Management. In 2009 she completed a Master's degree in Information and Knowledge Management at the School of Professional Studies at Columbia during which time she moved to the ISSO as an Assistant Director for Administration. Four years after moving to the ISSO, an adviser position opened up and Simone made a huge career shift and started as Senior Program Officer in December 2013.
