Sachi Ando, PhD, is Director of the Division for Global Education at Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST) in Japan. She received her Master of Science in Social Work (2005) and PhD in Social Work (2010) from the University of Texas at Arlington in the USA. Prior to joining NAIST in 2015, she was Assistant Professor at Widener University, Center for Social Work Education in the USA, since 2011. Her research focus has been on immigrant and refugee wellbeing. At Widener, she taught research related courses and elective courses on immigrant and refugee issues. Currently at NAIST, she is in charge of strategic planning in strengthening the university’s competitiveness in global education, particularly through partnerships with universities abroad for faculty/student exchange, faculty/staff development programs, and more.
