This poster will share study results that examine the cultural competence of graduate students at the beginning and end of an academic healthcare program and between graduate students who had a global learning experience and those who did not.
Dr. Paula DiBiasio has developed & implemented a successful global education program for Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) students at Elon University, the DPT Global Learning Opportunities (GLO) program. Paula worked to establish the GLO mission, vision and initiate high quality global learning experiences for all stakeholders. She collaborated with colleagues to formulate policies, create a website, an online application, and host an annual event to highlight students' global experiences. Paula is principal investigator of a multi-site study examining the intercultural competence of DPT students & alumni.
