Jianyang Mei is a Ph.D candidate in Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education (HALE) at Michigan State University, and she earned her M.A. in HALE program at Michigan State in 2012. As the Cultural Assistant at Michigan State University Neighborhood Student Success Collaborative, she mainly serves international students, especially first-year international students, with their transition and adaptation in acaemic learning and daily life at Michigan State University. Jianyang is also an experienced Chinese language teacher in college level. She has teaching experience at Naikai University in Tianjin, China, Kettering University, and Michigan State University, and developed online pre-departure seminar for students in Michigan State University Chinese language study abroad programs in China. Jianyang's research interests include students' retention and completion, international student recruitment and integration, international education, teaching and learning, study abroad program, and second language acquisition.
