Heidi Soneson is program director of the Learning Abroad Center at the University of Minnesota, a position held since 1991. She manages study abroad programs in France, Senegal, and Morocco and assists with research projects abroad.. Soneson served chair of the NAFSA Education Abroad Regulatory Committee and chair of the NAFSA Education Abroad Consular Affairs Liaison Subcommittee. Soneson is published and has presented on a variety of study abroad topics, including study abroad for students with disabilities, visa regulations for U.S. students, ethical visa advising guidelines, GLBT concerns, and strategies for raising the visibility of study abroad offices on U .S. campuses.
