Tonia Pizer has been working at the University of California, San Diego Study Abroad Office for the past 17 years. In her current position as Global Seminars Coordinator, she manages UCSD’s faculty-led study abroad programs, which were established in 2008. Tonia writes and maintains the Global Seminars website and has completed training in writing for the web, HTML, Dreamweaver, and Java. She presented a poster called ‘Using Mobile Websites and Responsive Design for Today’s Connected Students’ at the 2013 NAFSA Annual Conference as well as a poster called 'Designing a faculty-led study abroad program to attract a diverse student population' at the 2015 NAFSA Annual Conference. She also serves as Communications Coordinator for the NAFSA Region XII Southern District. Tonia received her Master of Pacific International Affairs from UCSD’s School of Global Policy and Strategy and BA from Oberlin College in East Asian studies.
