
Associate Director, Neighbourhood & Youth Services

Julie started as a children's librarian at Vancouver Public Library and has acted as a branch head and manager of diverse portfolios in library branches and at the Central Library. As Associate Director of Neighbourhood & Youth Services she is responsible for strategy development for system-wide children’s and teen services, system-wide community engagement planning, and select projects in neighbourhood services.
Julie serves on the City of Vancouver’s Joint Childcare Council, the Vancouver Board of Education’s School Library Resource Centre Consultative Committee, and the University of the Fraser Valley’s Library & Information Program Advisory Committee. She is a member of the British Columbia Library Association and the Public Library Association, a division of the American Library Association.
Julie received a Master of Library Science from the University of Britsh Columbia. She is a graduate of the Municipal Administration Training Institute’s Leadership in Local Government Organizations program and a member of the inaugural Library Leaders Excellence and Development (LLEAD) program.
