Panel of speakers
Our public institutions were created within the same historical and cultural context that produced slavery, Jim Crow, and the prison industrial complex. Today, municipalities and libraries across the country are finally developing strategies to interrupt the machine of systemic racism. In this session, participants will hear from libraries engaged in racial equity work about lessons learned and concrete tools. Learn about resources available through the Local and Regional Government Alliance on Race and Equity (GARE) and the Center for Social Inclusion (CSI). Come prepared to dive into an exercise to help you analyze your library’s racial equity impact.
