Recorded Program
It’s no secret that teens need life skills to survive in the real world. Libraries are already celebrated as learning institutions - we offer books and resources to expand the fountain of knowledge, but what about soft skills? We’re here to tell you that libraries can help with that too! By starting a Life Hacks workshop series for teens at your library, you will be preparing teens for success in the real world.
Speakers:
Kayla Marie Figard: Kayla Marie Figard has been working in libraries since she was a teen and now she is living her dream, working with teens to help them succeed every day.
Elizabeth Tanner: Biz Tanner is the Teen Services Coordinator for the County of Los Angeles Public Library and wishes she was home more often because if she were, she'd get a cat.
Erik Berman: While some claim that he just never grew up, San José Public Library’s Teen Librarian, Erik Berman, likes to think he’s doing what he loves by helping teens learn, grow, and explore new technologies and ideas.
