Schmidt Wallace Healthcare Management, Inc.

Mary Tuberville is a Nursing Home Administrator employed by Schmidt Wallace Healthcare Management, Inc. She has served as the Administrator at Talladega Healthcare, Inc. in rural Talladega, Alabama for almost ten years. Talladega Healthcare is a 234-bed, five star facility that is also a Bronze Qualiy Award Winner. It specializes in high acuity patients and those who are a financial challenge. THC is the largest of the four Schmidt Wallace faciities. It partificaptes in a 22-facility consortium sponsored by the Alabama QIO, AQAF, in the CMS Initiative to reduce hospital readmissions, improve staff stability, and medication saftey. Ms. Tuberville serves as a AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Examiner. She has a Master's degree in Social Work and has held Social Work and Assisted Living Administrator licenses in Alabama.

Christopher Schmidt

Chris attended Auburn University where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing in 1988 and received a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Auburn University Montgomery in 1990.

Chris chose to make a healthcare career in the skilled nursing and rehabilitation profession. Chris joined his mother Patti Wallace 29 years ago providing rehabilitation services in skilled nursing homes across the State of Alabama. Chris is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator and is also a Certified Nursing Assistant.

Chris is the President and C.E.O. of Schmidt Wallace Healthcare which owns and operates Rehab Select that includes four skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities providing services to over 660 residents with 950 employees.

Chris’s facilities have been participating with Alabama Quality Assurance Foundation (AQAF) in numerous Quality Improvement Projects including the Nursing Facility Initiative (NFI) coalition of nursing homes to reduce re-hospitalizations for the past 4 years. Chris also participates as a board member in the Partners in Care Coalition (PICC) in Birmingham and as a facility participant in the Improving Performance Across Care Transitions (IMPACT) in Montgomery.

All of the facilities Chris has been involved with have received Quality Awards from the American Health Care Association Quality Award Program and the Alabama Quality Award Program. Chris was a master Quality Award examiner for the American Health Care Association for 10 years and a Quality Award examiner for the Alabama Quality Award for 4 years. Chris is a board member for the Alabama Nursing Home Association and the Alabama Performance Excellence Quality Award Program. Chris is a recognized national presenter for the American Health Care Association (AHCA) on the subjects of the AHCA Quality Award, Quality Improvement, Reducing Turnover, Recruitment and Retention, Culture Change, and Team Building strategies for long term care facilities and assisted living facilities.

Chris is 50 years old and has two boys Brannon, age 25 and Mason, age 22. He enjoys outdoor activities such as snow skiing, soccer, and sailing. Chris captained his sailboat Na Zdravi in the first U.S. sanctioned sailboat race from Pensacola Florida to Havana Cuba in October 2015.
