Countdown to QAPI: Your Final Check Before the Deadline

In the first major revision to the requirements of participation for long term care since 1991, CMS has issued the long-awaited Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) requirements. Implemented in three phases, requirements merge quality assurance with performance improvement and require the implementation of an effective, comprehensive, and data-driven quality process. In coordination with the facility assessment, a QAPI plan must be developed and provided to surveyors. In this program, we will review the requirements in the QAPI rules, including adverse incident identification and prevention, relationship to the facility assessment, associated training requirements, committee requirements, and coordination with abuse prevention activities to make sure that your process and team are ready by the Phase 2 deadline of November 28, 2017.

This dynamic presentation will challenge you to look critically at the work you have completed in 2017 to comply with the new QAPI regulations. The PowerPoint format will incorporate audience participation through lively discussion, interactive polling, and shared experiences.
