Janet A. Grimes, DVM, MS, DACVS-SA

University of Georgia

Janet Grimes, DVM, MS, DACVS-SA is an Assistant Professor of Small Animal Surgery at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. She is a graduate of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. She completed a rotating internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at the Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. She then completed a residency in Small Animal Surgery at the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine, where she also received a Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences. She then was an Assistant Professor of Companion Animal Surgery at the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine prior to joining the University of Georgia in 2016. Dr. Grimes’ research interests include surgical oncology, specifically splenic hemangiosarcoma, osteosarcoma, and sentinel lymph node evaluation.
