Kathleen Ham is an Assistant Professor of Small Animal Surgery at Ohio State University. She received her undergraduate and veterinary degrees at Michigan State University and a M.S. from University of Illinois. Dr. Ham completed an internship and surgery residency while at University of Illinois, and became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2009. She worked at a specialty practice in Michigan for 3 years prior to starting at Ohio State in 2011. Dr. Ham's expertise lies in soft tissue and oncologic surgery. She has published on her professional interests which include primary hyperparathyroidism, minimally invasive surgery, wounds, brachycephalic airway disease, and surgical oncology. She is active in clinical trials and collaborative research projects. Dr. Ham has interests in resident education, student teaching and continuing education and is the Assistant Director of Laboratories of the Continuing Education Committee for ACVS. Dr. Ham is married with a daughter and son, Boston terrier and mastiff, and 1 cat. She loves sports, travel and live music.
