Alex Gillen MA MS VetMB CertAVP DACVS MRCVS is an Assistant Clinical Professor at Iowa State University. Alex is originally from the United Kingdom and following an internship at the Animal Health Trust under Dr Sue Dyson and time in private practice, moved to the USA. Alex has previously completed an internship at Chino Valley Equine Hosptial and a residency in Equine Surgery at Auburn University.

This abstract involves collaboration between authors at Auburn University, The Ohio State University, University of Wisconsin-Madison and Iowa State University. Alex is extremely grateful to all of the authors for their contribution, partlicularly Dr Margaret Mudge at The Ohio State University for performing a huge part of the data collection.
