Michelle Capps, BA, CVT is an OR Technician at the Veterinary Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She is a graduate of Camden County College's Veterinary Technology program and obtained her certification in 2011. More recently, Michelle attended Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ where she majored in General Studies with a minor in Biological Science. She graduated Cum Laude and was a member of Sigma Alpha Lambda's Honor Society. Michelle is responsible for overseeing the Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) Suite at Penn Vet and has traveled to other local veterinary hospitals to educate technicians how to manage MIS cases and equipment. Currently, Michelle is working alongside a veterinary student from the University of Illinois and surgery techs from multi-specialty institutions in a descriptive study of emergency surgeries after hours. One of her goals for 2018 is to begin the application process to obtain her VTS in Surgery. She resides in South Jersey with her husband (Jeff), 9 year old daughter (Kiera), 10 month old son (Cason), Weimaraner (McKenna), Boxer (Madden), and 4 cats (Rayna, Jackson, Mason, & Rupes).
