Jon Cheetham VetMB PhD DipACVS is an Associate Professor of Large Animal Surgery at Cornell University. He worked in first opinion and referral equine practice in the UK before coming to Cornell for a residency and PhD. Clinically, he works with sports medicine and upper airway cases. His laboratory focuses on understanding the role of macrophages in the early immune response to nerve injury and applying this knowledge to improve functional outcomes after nerve graft.

Norm G. Ducharme, DMV, MSc, DACVS

Dr. Norm Ducharme, DVM, MSc, Dipl. ACVS
Dr. Ducharme graduated from Montreal University in 1979. He received his DVM from the University of Montreal and then completed an internship and residency in Large Animal Surgery at Cornell University. He also received a master’s degree in Large Animal Surgery from the University of Guelph where he was on faculty from 1982 to 1986. Dr. Ducharme became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in February 1985 and joined the faculty at Cornell University in 1986. Dr. Ducharme served as the Medical Director of the Equine and Large Animal Hospitals at Cornell University from 1990 to 2014 when the Cornell Ruffian Equine Specialists Clinic opened. He was appointed as the James Law Professor of Surgery in 2005. He has served on the ACVS Board of Regents from 1997 to 2000 and from 2004 to 2007. During the latter term he served as President of the ACVS in 2006 and Chair of the Board of Regents in 2007. He has been on the Executive Committee of the World Equine Airways Symposium since 1997. He was inducted into the Kentucky Equine Hall of Fame in October 2016. He is currently CMO of the Cornell Ruffian Equine Specialists Clinic.
Dr. Ducharme has a strong clinical emphasis and commitment (i.e., chips and throats!): He has hospital privileges as Professor of Surgery at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in Ithaca, NY and at the Cornell Ruffian Equine Specialists Clinic at Belmont Park.
