Dr. Poulin graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in Animal Science in 2000 and the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. She then completed a multidisciplinary equine internship at Mid-Atlantic Equine Medical Center, followed by a three year equine surgical residency at the University of California-Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. She was awarded diplomat status by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2010. Dr. Poulin returned to the east coast as an Emergency Surgeon at Mid-Atlantic Equine followed by a surgical research position within the Global Surgery Group of Johnson & Johnson at Ethicon, Inc. Prior to joining Zoetis, Dr. Poulin was in clinical private practice as an Associate Equine Surgeon and Ambulatory Clinician at Running 'S' Equine Veterinary Services in New Jersey.

Dr. Poulin's clinical interests include upper level performance horse sports medicine and rehabilitation, advanced lameness diagnostics and treatment, assessment of poor performance, laparoscopic, orthopedic, laser and upper respiratory surgery and colic surgery. She has published numerous research articles on a variety of topics in peer-reviewed journals and lay magazines and has presented her research in a variety of platforms. Currently, she is a member of the Leadership Development Committee of the AAEP and previously served as a member of the Educational Programs Committee and was the Chair of the Public Outreach Committee for ACVS. She has participated in several equitarian veterinary teams providing remote equine medical services to animals in Peru, Palau, Guam, Guatemala and the Navajo Nation.

When not working or riding her TB mare "Roxie", Amy can be found with her husband visiting the National Parks (over 44 so far), traveling, hiking, gardening or hanging out with their four legged critters: dog “Cuddy” and cat “Marmolade”.

Jennifer L. Haupt, DVM, DACVS-LA

Massachusetts Institute of Technology

Jennifer Haupt, DVM, DACVS-LA is a surgical veterinarian for the Division of Comparative Medicine at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She completed her undergraduate education at Cornell University where she worked in the Comparative Orthopedics Laboratory under Dr. Alan Nixon. She completed veterinary school at Michigan State University followed by an equine internship at Mid-Atlantic Equine Medical Center. Following completion of a large animal surgery residency at Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine she joined the staff at MIT where she helps perform and coordinate surgical procedures in all mammalian species at the institute. Jennifer is active in training and advancing surgical models in the lab animal community.
