Dr. Todd Towell received her veterinary degree from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. She completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at North Carolina State University and a residency in small animal medicine at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. She received a Masters degree in Veterinary Medical Science from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. After her postgraduate training, and obtaning her specialty board certification in internal medicine Dr. Towell practiced as in internist in both referral specialty and general practices. She received the Jersey Shore Veterinary Medical Association’s Veterinarian of the Year Award in 1996. In 2000 she received the Colorado Veterinary Medical Association’s Up and Coming Veterinarian Award and in 2006 the Industry Partnership Award. She served as President of that association 2005-2006. She joined Hill's Pet Nutrition, Inc. in 2002. From 2006 until her retirement in 2014 she supported Global Professional Veterinary Affairs as a Senior Manager of Scientific Communications. Dr. Towell’s areas of interest include, weight management, evidence-based medicine, and clinical nutrition. Among numerous journal articles and textbook chapters Dr. Towell is the editor and co-author of “Practical Weight Management in Dogs and Cats” published in 2011.

Danielle Browning, LVMT, VTS (surg)

Veterinary Technician

DANIELLE BROWNING, LVMT, VTS (Surgery), is the ward technician for University of Tennessee small animal soft tissue surgery service. She is a founding board member for the Academy of Veterinary Surgical Technicians. Ms. Browning shares responsibility for instructing students, interns, and residents on wound management techniques. She is a graduate of Lincoln Memorial University Veterinary Technology program and a frequent speaker on soft tissue topics at both national and international meetings.
