It gives us great pleasure to invite you to the upcoming 2017 World Congress of Endourology, which promises to be one of the most exciting congresses to date! Set in spectacular Vancouver, Canada, our theme this year is “A bridge to the future of Endourology.” New technologies and techniques as well as the latest in cutting-edge translational research will be the focus of this year’s meeting , all of which are as key to what will become standard clinical practice in years to come.
A true gateway city, Vancouver is a beautiful city nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the Cascade Mountains. This is the first time the WCE will be held on the west coast of North America, enabling access by dozens of direct flights from Asia, North America and Europe. The city will play host to Urologists from around the world to share ideas, techniques and tips , and catch up with former colleagues while making new friends.
Dr. Hassan Razvi and Dr. Dirk Lange (Scientific Program Co-Chairs) are busy organizing an exciting scientific program that will feature presentations from internationally renowned endourologists, laparoscopists, robotic-surgeons and basic scientists. International, subspecialty and affiliated meetings will begin on Tuesday, September 12, in addition to the Basic Science Poster Sessions, representing the foundation of translational research that is so important to the future of Endourology. Live surgery performed by experts in our field will help improve our techniques and patient outcomes. The Congress will feature educational courses, unedited video sessions, expert video sessions, panel case discussion and spirited debates. There will be something for everyone to learn, and new knowledge that you will be able to implement into your clinical practice upon your return home.
In addition to the scientific program, you will be able to enjoy all that Vancouver and the surrounding areas have to offer. From the opening reception with our Industry Partners in the Exhibitor Hall to the Gala Evening at the historic Commodore Ballroom, there will be plenty of opportunities to socialize. After the Congress is over, stay a few days to explore the area. The ski resort of Whistler is a short trip away and is just as beautiful in September as it is in the winter. Alaska cruises start in Vancouver Harbour and take you up the stunning Pacific west coast. Whale watching is just a short boat ride from downtown Vancouver for a half-day excursion. And the Rocky Mountaineer train allows you to witness the stunning, majestic Canadian Rockies from a luxury train. Whether the great restaurants and vibrant cosmopolitan city or the untamed Canadian wilderness, you can experience it all on the same day!
