Dan is the Founder and General Partner of Commerce Ventures, a venture firm focused on digital innovations in the FinTech, Payments and Commerce eco-systems. Commerce Ventures represents a broad, highly strategic set of investors and, thus far, the firm has invested in over thirty portfolio companies since its launch, including Bill.com (SaaS Platform for B2B payments), Forter (Fraud Decisions-as-a-Service Platform), Marqeta (Next-generation Issuing Platform), MX (Saas Platform for Omnichannel Banking), Narvar (SaaS Platform for E-commerce Fulfillment), RetailNext (In-store Analytics), Snapsheet (Auto Insurance Self-service Platform) and Tulip Retail (Store Associate Platform for Clienteling and mPOS). Prior to creating Commerce Ventures, Dan was a Principal at Highland Capital and invested primarily in mobile, payments and digital marketing companies, such a Quattro Wireless (acquired by Apple), Triad, Zoove (acquired by MBlox) and WePay.
Before joining Highland, Dan worked at HarbourVest Partners, LLC - where he invested in and worked closely with several successful, growth-stage technology and communications businesses; in Corporate Development at RSA Security; and as a fintech software consultant for American Management Systems. He has served as a mentor or advisor in programs such as 500Startups, Commerce.Innovated, Mondelez’s Mobile Futures, Money2020’s StartupPitch 180, PYMNTS.com Innovator Awards, Plug and Play’s FinTech Accelerator, Summer @ Highland, HBS Angels, NAR’s Reach Accelerator and First Growth Venture Network. Dan received his BS in Economics (with Honors) from University of Pennsylvania (Wharton) and his MBA (with Distinction) from Harvard.
Schwark is a General Partner at Trinity Ventures focusing on early stage technology investments in Fintech, Security and Artificial Intelligence. Before joining Trinity, Schwark served as Executive Vice President at LifeLock and head of Mastercard’s global rewards and offers initiatives.
An entrepreneur himself, Schwark was the co-founder of two Fintech companies – Truaxis (a Trinity portfolio company acquired by MasterCard in 2012) and Yodlee (YDLE, acquired by Envestnet in 2015). He has also worked for Microsoft and is a graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras and Rennselaer Polytechnic Institute. Schwark is an inventor on 15 US patents.
David Sica is a Principal at Nyca Partners – a venture capital firm focused solely on fintech. Prior to joining Nyca Partners, David was a Director at Visa, focusing on the merchant side of the business during a period of government regulation and new payment innovation. Before Visa, David worked at Merrill Lynch in Real Estate Investment Banking and Institutional Sales, specializing in emerging markets. David is a graduate of The George Washington University.

As a founder and investor, Ryan brings 20 years of global financial services expertise spanning payments, remittances, credit, security, and compliance to Propel Venture Partners. He serves as the executive chairman of SmartBizLoans, a small business lending marketplace he founded as an entrepreneur-in-residence at Venrock; the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s nominated director of bKash, Bangladesh’s leading remittance network; and a director of River City Bank in Sacramento. His prior roles include co-founder and CEO of real estate payments company PropertyBridge (acquired by MoneyGram International), an early investor in Eventbrite, and a founding advisor to Square. Ryan graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, and is member of the State Bar of California.
