Uncovering Hidden Risks in the Evolution of Payments Aggregation

Merchant acquirers and independent sales organizations (ISOs) are increasing their use of payment facilitators, value-added resellers (VARs) and independent software vendors (ISVs) at a remarkable pace. As VARs and ISVs play a key role in merchant acquisition, these new sales channels prove to hold significant revenue opportunities and greater risk across the entire acquiring industry. In this environment, “know your customer’s customer” and managing data protection becomes increasingly challenging as new opportunities for fraud are revealed. This panel will also explore the rights of sub-merchants participating in this ecosystem and how consumer protection concerns pose certain risks that many acquirers and ISOs have not considered.
