22nd Century Payments
CE: 1 Credit
Description: Many people speculate that the convergence of cloud computing, mobile technologies and new entrants will relegate traditional payment processors to the role of providers of a commodity. New entrants to the industry, including cryptocurrencies and alternative payments providers, claim to be the future of payments. Will next-generation payments processors operate in the same way as traditional payments processors, or will the new environment create a dramatically different form of payments processing? This presentation will explore the future role of payment processors and merchant acquirers, payments processing technology and the theorized commoditization of payments processing.
