Introduction to Electronic Processing is the first and most basic course within the College of General Studies. This course provides an industry history and statistical outline, and focuses on industry specific definitions as well as the roles and responsibilities of the various industry players. Finally, the course follows a “day in the life of a transaction” and examines in detail the seven stages of processing. This course provides a strong foundation and understanding of the business, the players and the process.

Director, Global Sales and Marketing
Mike Cottrell currently serves as Director- Head of Global Sales and Marketing for ProPay, a TSYS company. A long-time veteran of the credit card processing industry, Mike is responsible for all of the sales and marketing efforts for ProPay, including their developer programs, payment facilitator program, international disbursements, micro-merchant offering and the ProPay Payment Network sales. Prior to ProPay, Mike served as Senior Vice President, Chief Business Development Officer for TriSource Solutions. Mike has an MBA in Global Management from The Thunderbird School of Global Management, a Bachelor’s degree in business information systems and is a graduate of the National School of Bankcard Management. Mike is an instructor for the Electronic Transaction Association University, and hhas served on numerous industry and trade associations groups and committees in the past.
