MFG75 - Manufacturing Metrics: Tension and Balance

Thursday, October 12
1:15 PM - 2:15 PM
Room: Ryman Studio DE

Format: Presentation
Level: Advanced
CPE: 1
Version: Any

Inventory turns, fill rate, on-time shipments, overall equipment effectiveness, accident rate, cycle time, yield - which metrics do you use? Are they the right ones? How do you know? Where does organizational culture or personal opinion come into play? How much say do other departments in your organization have? Without a balanced set of metrics to drive the desired outcome, consequences could be surprising and painful. You also need to re-visit your metrics on a regular basis. We'll discuss best practices for developing a balanced set of metrics / scorecards, share with each other on what's worked well, not so much in our own operations, and discuss approaches for gathering and displaying these via tools you already own, like Dynamics NAV, Excel, and Power BI.
