Sean Hamilton BIO
Sean Hamilton is the General Manager of the Sterling Municipal Light Department (SMLD) with 37 years in the public power industry. Sean began his career in 1979 as a lineman and advanced to his current position. During his career he has been instrumental in bringing utility scale renewable energy projects to municipal light depts. His projects include a 1.65 Megawatt (mw) wind turbine project in Templeton, MA that was completed in 2010. His work on solar has helped Sterling Municipal Light Department become the number one utility in the country for solar watts per customer in 2013 and ranked 7th in 2015. Sterling is managing their solar and also providing resiliency to the Police and Dispatch Center with their recently installed 2mw/3.9mwhr Lithium-Ion battery storage project that brought the first utility scale storage facility to Massachusetts that is saving Sterling ratepayers over $400,000 a year, This project also put Sterling at number one for storage watts per customer in SEPAs 2016 survey and helped the SMLD and the Town of Sterling receive the Commonwealth of Mass., Leading By Example award in November of 2017.
As a member of the Sterling Energy Committee, he has worked with the Massachusetts Municipal Wholesale Electric Company (MMWEC) and the Department of Energy Resources (DOER) to perform major HVAC and lighting improvements throughout all municipal buildings in Sterling including replacing of all street lights with LEDs.
He currently serves on the Northeast Public Power Association (NEPPA) Board of Directors, the MMWEC Board of Directors , The Berkshire Wind Cooperative Board of Directors and is past President of the Municipal Electric Association of Massachusetts (MEAM).

Roger Lin is Senior Director of Product Marketing at NEC Energy Solutions, where he leads all product management and marketing activities for the company. Focusing on grid energy storage solutions as well as battery systems for commercial and industrial applications, he has over twelve years of experience in energy storage technologies and applications. He was responsible for several successful development efforts ranging from high power energy storage systems for hybrid buses to lithium ion cell technologies. Prior to joining NEC, he held roles at A123 Systems, a lithium ion battery startup, YankeeTek Ventures, an early-stage venture capital fund, and business development and materials science R&D at Saint-Gobain. Roger received his Master of Engineering degree in Materials Science from MIT, his Bachelor of Science in Ceramic Engineering from Rutgers University, and is an inventor on ten United States patents.

Todd Olinsky-Paul serves as project director for both Clean Energy Group and Clean Energy States Alliance (CESA). As a Project Director for Clean Energy Group, Todd co-directs the Resilient Power Project (www.resilient-power.org), which supports deployment of clean distributed technologies such as solar+storage at critical facilities to enable the provision of essential services during grid outages. He also serves as a CESA Project Director for the Energy Storage and Technology Advancement Partnership (ESTAP), a federal-state funding and information sharing project that aims to accelerate the deployment of electrical energy storage technologies in the U.S. (http://bit.ly/CESA-ESTAP). Todd also works on CESA member services, new member outreach efforts, and communications products for both organizations, and manages emerging projects in the areas of biomass thermal energy and combined heat and power. Todd has a Master of Science in Environmental Policy from Bard College and a Bachelor of Arts from Brown University.
