2017 National Electrical Code Article 706, Impact on Design and Installation of Energy Storage Systems

New to the 2017 National Electrical Code is article 706 Energy Storage Systems, introduced to provide installation requirements for the growing body of energy storage systems. This presentation will cover the impact of this new article on the design, specification, and installation of energy storage systems in residential and C&I projects.

Marvin R Hamon, P.E. is a Principle with Hamon Engineering, Inc. and has been practicing professional electrical engineering since 1996. He is a graduate of California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering focusing on power systems and a Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. After providing general electrical engineering services and software development services for many years Mr. Hamon changed his focus to the PV industry in 2005 when he founded Hamon Engineering. Mr. Hamon provides a wide range of professional engineering and consulting services to the PV industry and to private clients with an interest in adding PV to their properties. Mr. Hamon is a licensed professional electrical engineer in the states of Arizona, California, Hawaii and Oregon.
