Why is there a Rainbow Flag outside my Teacher's Door? What are Safe Zones?

Friday, November 10
2:30 PM - 3:30 PM
Location: 205

Safe Zone programs aim to create a visible network of support for our gifted lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, and intersex (LGBTQQI) individuals and their allies. Safe Zone members are identified by a sign that they hang on their office door or living space, or by other Safe Zone visual indicators, and are trained to be better allies to LGBTQQI students. The session pertains to the possibility of creating the formation of Safe Zones at your educational institution. The moderator provides all necessary tools needed for the discussion and provides “hands-on activities” that are beneficial and informative.
