STEAM-ing through Climate Change

Friday, November 10
2:30 PM - 3:30 PM
Location: Exhibit Hall Roundtable 1

The STEAM-ing through Climate Change curriculum is a collaboration between a major research university and a government agency, designed to bridge Next Generation Science Standards and highly engaging Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics activities in a gifted middle school classroom. This session explores art and design practices as a means to advance individual learning in STEM. Students explore how to solve problems creatively and address social issues. This project enhances divergent outcomes emerging from science and art to develop interdisciplinary collaborations in any classroom. Teachers will walk away with tools and resources to transform classrooms into contemporary studio-laboratories.
