Supporting Parents and Guardians of Gifted Students: Methods to Meet Their Needs

Saturday, November 11
1:15 PM - 2:15 PM
Location: Exhibit Hall Roundtable 1

Meaningful support for parents and guardians is a critical component to nurturing students with gifts and talents and those with gifted potential. During large parent sessions, parents may sit quietly and wait until after the session to engage with presenters. To support students' parents and guardians, a center for Gifted Education at a southeastern University chose to add additional parent programs and include varied formats for parents to engage with experts in the field. During this session, we share the who, what, where, and when that changed to better meet the needs of the parents and guardians of these students.
