Let's Go Deep In Math! Using Art and Problem Solving to Add Depth and Rigor for Gifted Learners

Friday, November 10
8:00 AM - 9:00 AM
Location: 212 A

Looking for that breadth and depth in your math instruction? Do you have students who are conceptual learners but can’t explain the powerful concepts rolling around in their heads? Have you been told not to go up -- just go deep -- and you think, what does that even mean for gifted math students? Gifted students have difficulty explaining their thinking, finding more than one way to solve a problem, using visual models when the math is magic and “just happens” in their heads, and working cooperatively in groups. Learn how to use the power of a sketchbook for problem solving and visual notetaking to help these unique and diverse learners.
