Educators can do much to usher in what the Dalai Lama refers to as “global compassion,” that is, a more altruistic, united, and cooperative international society. In this session, the presenters discuss opportunities that foster powerful learning environments for promoting moral engagement in ways that influence our interconnected world. Included in the discussion is a description of Kohler-Evans and Barnes's Model of Influence, which empowers students to move from a state of awareness to a state of action through which they contribute to their communities and to creating a better world.
