Traditionally, math and science represent a large part of the emphasis in gifted programs. Following the current worldwide trend supporting STEM fields, many enrichment programs focus on STEM-related courses. But what about children who need enrichment in other fields? Gifted children in domains such as humanities, languages, art, and music also deserve to develop their talents. Using data from university-based enrichment programs, this session provides exemplary samples of non-STEM courses for gifted children, shares empirical findings, and suggests future directions.
