Meeting academic and affective needs of twice-exceptional students requires a specialized toolbox. Tools are needed to address not only challenges these students experience, but, more importantly, their need for high-level intellectual work commensurate with their strengths. 2e students need instructional approaches that emphasize rigor: relevancy, cognitively complex tasks, support systems, and refined assessments. Participants will exit with strategies to design differentiated lessons, alternative assessments, and interest-based learning, along with resources that provide 2e students with what they need most -- strength based instruction. The right tools can shine a light on what 2e students need to thrive.
