From the 3 R’s to the 4 C’s: Developing Creative Thinkers for the 21st Century

Saturday, November 11
2:30 PM - 3:30 PM
Location: 208 B

Factors that made for a creative, educated, and wise person in prehistoric times, or even in the early 1900s, are not the essentials our gifted students need today. Compare the Three R’s of yesteryear to the 21st century’s Four C’s. Discover ways to develop in-depth creative thinking by infusing Collaboration, Communication, Creativity, and Critical Thinking into your classroom. In this session, you will learn several practical strategies that go beyond brainstorming and divergent thinking to more in-depth creative thinking. Learn ways to show students how to analyze and synthesize a multitude of information and ideas so as to create new and unique writing, art forms, and products.
