The Pressures of Being a Gifted Introvert in an Extroverted 24/7 World

Friday, November 10
3:00 PM - 3:30 PM
Location: 210 A

The Pressures of Being a Gifted Introvert in an Extroverted 24/7 World offers examples and strategies for parents, students, and educators to advocate for quiet gifted children. Classrooms seem hardwired for extroversion, and introverts need to find their place in the learning community. This presentation discusses personality traits of introversion in gifted students, specific strategies for advocating for your introverted child, ways to help your child recharge at school, and rethinking classroom participation. Ultimately, finding alternative approaches to embracing the needs of our introverted gifted learners demonstrates that all children are valued and respected while strengthening our learning communities.
