What Kind of World Do You Want?

Friday, November 10
3:45 PM - 4:45 PM
Location: 213 BC

Students sometimes think, "I'm only a kid - how can I make a difference in the world?" Service Learning is a teaching method that combines meaningful service to the community with curriculum-based learning. This multimedia session guides participants through the steps of implementing a service-learning unit along with examples of successful projects (K-12) and resources including music, literature, the arts, grant writing tips, and links to integrating technology. Methods of assessment and supporting metacognition are included. Shine a light on your gifted students and empower them to transform their ideas into action as they tackle issues of importance to them and make inroads into solving real world problems!
