In this session, participants focus on the importance of helping gifted students develop their personal identity and how this produces the foundation for meaningful global connection. Once this foundation is laid, teachers can provide opportunities for students to connect to their peers around the world through authentic, collaborative, and project- based learning. These experiences ultimately help students develop empathy, communication, critical thinking, and other necessary 21st century skills. Through an interactive approach grounded in global competency and gifted research, the presenter provides practical strategies and technology resources to help teachers make global connection a reality in their classrooms.
