Escalating the Challenge: Shining a Light on Differentiation Strategies

Friday, November 10
8:00 AM - 9:00 AM
Location: 202 B

How do you create classroom environments that emphasize critical thinking and engage students in active learning? Research suggests that teachers employ a wide range of strategies to match the level, complexity, and pace of curricula with a student's readiness and motivation. This session provides participants strategies for differentiation, including Frayer Model, Starburst, SCAMPER, morphological synthesis, Johari Window, RAFT, and Topic Generator. Presenters highlight examples and applications across curricular areas in K-12 so that participants can select strategies congruent with their contextual purpose, teacher style, and student needs. Both new and experienced teachers will benefit from the strategies presented.
