The College of William & Mary Language Arts Units: Challenging the Minds of Gifted Learners

Friday, November 10
8:00 AM - 9:00 AM
Location: 218 B

In the hands of the teacher, William & Mary Language Arts units challenge the minds of academically gifted learners by engaging them with advanced literature while strengthening students’ reasoning skills and their understanding of concepts through questioning, discussions, and tasks. The thinking models used in the units provide the opportunity for interdisciplinary connections, while the goals develop the academically gifted students' skills in literary analysis and interpretation, argumentative writing, linguistic competency, and oral communication. Participants leave with an understanding of how to implement the unit’s evidence-based thinking models to use immediately with their students.
