71 - Spotlight on S.T.E.A.M. Units for Grades 2-5

Science, technology, engineering, art, and math merge to spotlight creative units of study for second through fifth grade students in a gifted resource room. Greek mythology, simulations, Egyptology, Leonardo da Vinci, Oceanography, 3 Pigs & The Scientific Wolf, science mysteries, and more high-interest units are discussed to supply ideas to regular classroom teachers, gifted intervention specialists, and gifted coordinators. These units spark creative thinking and problem solving, which will illuminate student learning.

Dr. Tracy Alley teaches and coordinates the gifted program for Madeira City Schools in Cincinnati, Ohio. She teaches grades 1-5 in a gifted pull-out program. This is her 26th year of public school teaching. She teaches part-time at the University of Cincinnati in the teacher education program specializing in courses for gifted endorsement.
