The Global Awareness Gala is a place to celebrate being together, accepting each other as we are with no expectations other than to be; yet, joined together with a concern about gifted individuals, their awareness and perspectives about others. This evening, the NAGC Global Awareness Annemarie Roeper Award recipients for 2017, Barbara Lewis and The Summer Enrichment Program of University of Northern Colorado will be honored and share briefly about their work.

The Art and Creativity Networks present Creativity Night and celebrates creativity in academic areas and in the world at large. Learn new ways to radiate creative activities into your own instruction and to spark your students’ creative imaginations. Creativity Night will be held in a large room with 15-20 stations. Select from the list of stations you'll receive when you enter and join one group for the first of three or four rounds. We will have spontaneous celebrations between rounds! Come join the fun and you may win a prize from one of our vendors!

The evening kicks off with the Research Crackerbarrel from 7:00 PM to 7:45 PM. This is an opportunity for graduate students and early-career professionals to get advice on research, methods, and entering the field! The Graduate Student Research Gala will be from 7:45-8:30pm (following the Crackerbarrel). Four categories of papers (doctoral-level completed research, doctoral-level in-progress research, non-doctoral-level completed research, and non-doctoral-level in-progress research) are submitted and evaluated with awards presented at the event. Students will be available to answer questions about their research. This is a great opportunity to network and see the work of up-and-coming researchers in the field.

The Social and Emotional Development Network (formerly Counseling & Guidance) invites you to take time for yourself with Conversation and Color. After a short introduction and coloring technique tutorial, you will have the opportunity to engage in meaningful conversation with others who are passionate about serving gifted children. Conversation starters provide the platform for delving deeply into topics such as social and emotional development, self-actualization, growth, and well-being while the use of color sustains and enhances the convivial atmosphere. Join us as we celebrate through connection and the psychology of color.

Please join the Computers and Technology Network for an EdCamp-style evening where we will draw from our collective experiences and expertise to focus interest-driven, small group conversations around supporting gifted, creative, and talented learners through technology. This event is a "hair-raising, drag-tastic" event! Your GLBTQ Network will be raising funds for a local Charlotte area Gay-Straight Alliance. This is a usually "jam packed" NAGC happening, both for those who are serious bingo players and for those who wish to see the amazing talent. Hostess is none other than Fontana DeVine, our network’s ultimate mistress of ceremonies. Come laugh, have fun, and strive for some fabulous prizes.

Come join us for the STEM Network’s UNCONFERENCE session! Bring your burning STEM questions, your awesome STEM ideas to share, and come prepared to decide what you want to learn about and discuss with the experts in this unique evening event. It’s basically STEMcamp where we all share ideas and learn answers to enhance our students’ STEM experiences for learning and understanding science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
