With the increasing cost of education abroad programs, we are constantly asked: what is the true value of an international experience? Often, students are the ones who ultimately articulate the value. Learn one formula to guide students to take ownership and articulate the value of their own experience through goal-setting and reflective learning.

Independent Technology Consultant

Natalie recently transitioned her career from higher education to tech. Natalie's work on The Study Abroad Journal continues and she intends to keep up with the latest in international education as it is still her passion. Her tech career is built on a foundation of ten years in relationship building, marketing, efficiency improvement, and strategy in higher education. Natalie challenges the status quo to increase efficiency. She initiates software solutions, builds trust, trains non-technical colleagues, and manages solutions to full implementation to ensure lasting success.

Natalie has an undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies from Prescott College, which shaped her love of experiential education. She also completed a Master of Arts in Higher Education and Organizational Change at UCLA where her research focused on differences in student self understanding potentially related to study abroad.

Brooke Roberts

The Study Abroad Journal

Brooke Roberts is the Founder of Inside Study Abroad and the creator of the Global Pro Institute, a comprehensive professional development and training program for anyone trying to launch and grow a career in international education and meaningful travel. Along with Inside Study Abroad, Brooke is co-founder of The Study Abroad Journal. Previously, Brooke served as the Sr. Vice President at where she led the strategic direction and growth of the organization during a tumultuous transition period. During her career, Brooke has served as a study abroad office director, acted as an international education consultant, worked with program providers on internship and academic program development, and served as faculty for short-term programs abroad. She has volunteered on state and regional NAFSA teams and committees and presents regularly on professional development, marketing and promotion, breaking into the field, and using new media resources to advance your office and career. She received her BA in international affairs from Northeastern University and her MA in higher education and student affairs from Bowling Green State University.
