Panelists, all close observers of trends in higher education internationalization, will identify key trends to watch as new political and economic realities challenge assumptions about higher education. This session is organized by NAFSA’s Senior Fellows for Internationalization.

John K. Hudzik

NAFSA Senior Scholar for Internationalization
Michigan State University

John Hudzik, PhD, serves as chair of the NAFSA Senior Fellows for Internationalization and professor of criminal justice at Michigan State University. From 1995 to 2010, he was dean of International Studies and Programs at MSU and also served as vice president for global engagement and strategic projects and acting provost and vice president of academic affairs. Hudzik is past president and chair of the board of directors at NAFSA and past president of the Association of International Administrators (AIEA). He has served on numerous international policy and advisory boards for international development, frequently speaks at national and international conferences on the direction of global higher education and internationalization and publishes regularly on these topics.

Madeleine F. Green

NAFSA Senior Fellow for Internationalization
International Association of Universities

Madeleine F Green is Senior Fellow at the International Association of Universities and at NAFSA: The Association of International Educators. She also serves as Senior Program Consultant at the Teagle Foundation. Until 2010, she served as Vice President for International Initiatives at the American Council on Education. She has served as a college president and as a member of several boards of higher education institutions and organizations. Her consulting practices focuses on policy, institutional management and leadership, internationalization, governing boards, and change management. Green is widely published in the field of higher education leadership and management, global higher education issues, and internationalization. In 2010, she received the Charles Klasek award of the Association of International Education Administrators (AIEA) for outstanding service to the field of international education.

Jenny Lee

University of Arizona

Jenny J. Lee is a Professor at the Center for the Study of Higher Education at the University of Arizona (USA) and a Visiting Scholar at the University of Cape Town (South Africa). She is currently a NAFSA Senior Fellow, Associate Editor of the Review of Higher Education, and Co-editor of the book series, Studies in Global Higher Education. Dr. Lee's recent research focuses on the internationalization of higher education in emerging economies, neo-racism and neo-nationalism, and international student moblity.
