Communicating Regulations Across English Proficiency Levels

Wednesday, May 31
1:15 PM - 2:15 PM
LACC, Room 409

In a busy immigration office, it can be challenging to communicate regulations to speakers with weak English language skills. This hands-on presentation provides strategies to assess language proficiency on the spot, allowing advisers to modify their sentence-level structure and word choice in response, thus resulting in more productive interactions.
