Megan formerly worked as a field staff for Carpe Diem Education's gap year programs before transitioning to the role of Director of She brings seven years of editorial, international education, and online marketing experience to lead the noncommercial efforts for the organization.

Rachel M. Anderholder

Scholarship Program Director
Carpe Diem Education

Rachel manages Carpe Diem Education's scholarship program, working specifically with low-income, Portland based students to provide a year-long mentorship program that includes studying abroad on a Carpe Diem semester. For this year's scholarship cohort, Rachel was able to travel abroad with students, working as an Overseas Educator. She therefore has the unique perspective of working directly with students through all phases of the study abroad process, from interviewing to post-travel programming. Through working and volunteering with various schools and educational nonprofits throughout North and South America, Rachel's passion is making education an experience rather than a transaction. She holds a B.A. in Communications and Spanish from Whitworth University in Spokane, WA and an M.A. in International Development and Service from Concordia University in Portland.

Chelsea Kindred

Director of Alumni Development and Research

Chelsea Kindred is Director of Alumni Development and Research at Academic Programs International (API) where she develops and manages alumni learning, research, curriculum and digital environments for participants in the API Learning and Engagement digital badge program. Chelsea co-authored “Making Meaning of Education Abroad: A Journal for the Returnee Experience” and wrote “Re-Entry: Advising Strategies and Programming” in NAFSA’s Guide to Education Abroad: 4th Edition. Chelsea has presented extensively on returnee learning and engagement, including developing and training workshop "Current Trends in Education Abroad Alumni Programming". Chelsea is a recipient of NAFSA Region III Outstanding Service to International Education award.

Zachary Macinnes

Outreach Coordinator and Study Away Advisor

Zachary Macinnes is the Outreach Coordinator and Study Away Advisor for Spain, Latin America and the Caribbean at Trinity College, a highly-selective liberal arts college in Hartford, Connecticut, with a reputation for delivering academically rigorous study away programs with a unique “urban and global” focus. In his current role, Zachary oversees all Office of Study Away recruitment, marketing and outreach efforts to students, faculty and other key stakeholders on behalf of the nine Trinity College-administered programs. Prior to Trinity, Zachary served as Director of Communications and Regional Director for New England at a leading third-party provider for over five years.
