Vice Provost for Global Engagement
University of Rochester
Jane Gatewood is the Vice Provost for Global Engagement at the University of Rochester (New York). She earned a bachelor’s degree from Emory University and a PhD from the University of Georgia. Her administrative experience includes developing complex bi- and multi-lateral international partnerships for research, educational mobility, and economic development, and she has spent the last fifteen years working at the intersection of business, higher education, and government & diplomatic relations.
She has been a Fulbright awardee (India) and an Andrew W. Mellon Fellow at the School of Advanced Study (University of London). She was a visiting research editor for the Oxford English Dictionary (3rd Edition, Oxford University Press). Her academic training and expertise are in modern literary history, lexicography, and corpus linguistics. She regularly consults and speaks on the importance of partnerships to international higher education.

Deputy Director, Business Intelligence
Central Queensland University
Shehan Thampapillai has spent over 16 years within the international education sector primarily in the areas of recruitment, business development and business intelligence. He currently works at CQUniversity Australia as the Associate Director of Business Intelligence and Strategic Planning within the International Directorate.
During his time within the international education sector he has been involved in both the private and public education industry where he has held various senior positions in Australia and the UK.
At CQUniversity Shehan is responsible for forecasting future behavior of the international market and also identifying new sustainable pipelines with a focus on partnerships.
He has presented widely both in Australia and internationally most recently presenting at the Australian University International Directors Forum (AUIDF), Australian International Education Conference (AIEC), New Zealand International Education Conference (NZIEC), Asian Student Summit in Malaysia and at NAFSA, North America’s largest international education conference.
Director, International Initiatives
Colorado State University
Chad Hoseth is Director of International Initiatives at Colorado State University. He promotes campus-wide comprehensive internationalization by developing and supporting a wide range of international education, research, and engagement initiatives. Chad manages CSU’s portfolio of global partnerships, and helps guide the implementation of partnership activities such as dual degree academic programs and joint research efforts. The International Initiatives team also provides on-campus academic and co-curricular programs that promote intercultural understanding and create local opportunities for global engagement. Chad has been a Fulbright Scholar to Korea, and he is pursuing his Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership at Colorado State University.
