Clay T. Hensley

Senior Director, International Strategy & Outreach
College Board

In his role as senior director, international higher education outreach, at the College Board, CLAY HENSLEY supports the aspirations and goals of educators internationally, especially within the NAFSA community. Clay presents frequently on issues impacting international education, including international student mobility trends. Clay was awarded the annual Distinguished Service Award by the Overseas Association for College Admissions Counseling (OACAC) in 2013. Hensley is a key member of the College Board’s International team, which is responsible for managing the effective administration and use of College Board programs, including the SAT and the Advanced Placement Program (AP), in more than 180 countries around the globe. He also helps to advance the efforts of the College Board’s higher education membership to recruit prospective undergraduate students internationally. Prior to joining the College Board, he taught English literature and studio art at Serramonte del Rey High School in Daly City, California. He also taught at the university level. He holds a BA in English literature from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee and an MFA in painting from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

John Wilkerson

Director of International Admissions
Indiana University-Bloomington Office of International Services

John Wilkerson directs the Office of International Admissions at Indiana University in Bloomington. Previously, he has served as Director of International Admissions for the University of Missouri, as Director of Study Abroad for the Missouri School of Journalism, and as Director of Admissions for Columbia College in Columbia, Missouri. John is currently enrolled in doctoral studies at the University of Souther California. He completed his graduate work in counseling psychology from Stephens College, and his undergraduate studies at Columbia College. He serves in leadership roles with the Council of International Schools and the International Association of College Admissions Counselors.

Timothy Brunold

Dean of Admission
University of Southern California

Timothy Brunold is the dean of admission at the University of Southern California. He has worked in higher education for three decades; having received his introduction to the admission profession in the late 1980’s when he first joined USC’s Office of Admission as a student intern. He possesses deep knowledge and experience in a broad range of contemporary topics including strategic enrollment management, international recruitment, issues of access, equity and diversity, and the use of data and predictive modeling.

During his tenure as the university’s chief admission officer, USC has received record application volume, achieved its highest level of selectivity and has enrolled the most talented, diverse and impactful incoming classes in its 137-year history. Tim has dramatically expanded the size of USC’s admission office, making it one of the country’s largest; one with a distinct focus on transparency and best practices. In addition to his responsibilities as dean, he is active in multiple professional associations and currently serves on the board of directors of the Common Application.

Tim holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, in International Relations from USC and is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi academic honor societies.

Yu-Wan Wang

Associate Dean, International Admissions

For nearly a decade, Yu-wan has worked with a wide range of stakeholders in both academic and business communities. She leverages her experience working in the private and public sectors to form sustainable and scalable partnerships around the world. As a result of her strategic leadership, Yu-wan has created a number of innovative programs to engage international scholars, developed active international student and scholars offices and communities. On the operations side, Yu-wan has led teams that recruit, enroll and counsell international student and scholars. To create a stronger sense of community and ensure smooth transitions, Yu-wan has conducted orientation and cultural programs for incoming students and scholars. Yu-wan was a recipient for the Fulbright Fellowship for U.S Administrators in International Education and lifetime member of the Fulbright Association.
